About the ITEP Programme at Holy Cross College, Agartala

Academic Session 2025–26

Holy Cross College, Agartala, a premier institution committed to academic excellence and holistic development, is proud to announce its entry into the next phase of transformative teacher education. The College has applied for the prestigious Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) under the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and has successfully received the Letter of Intent (LOI) for the academic session 2025–26.

ITEP is a flagship initiative under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, designed to revolutionize teacher training by integrating subject knowledge, pedagogical skills, and values-based education into a single, comprehensive four-year programme. This dual programme has a major in education and the other in any chosen discipline. At present the courses provided are BA B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. As a multidisciplinary and forward-looking institution, Holy Cross College aligns itself with this visionary approach, aiming to nurture future educators equipped to lead classrooms with innovation, empathy, and excellence.

The College's proposal for the ITEP has been rigorously evaluated by NCTE, and the receipt of the LOI marks a significant milestone in its academic journey. With this development, Holy Cross College is poised to offer a high-quality teacher education programme that meets national standards and caters to the evolving needs of school education in India.
